‘Publish or perish’ is a veritable rule in the world of academe. Although conceiving, writing, revising and publishing embody important aspects in the process of engaging with a given scholarly community, it is often fraught with difficulties, frustration and even despair. Nevertheless, there are ways to reduce the accompanying angst and help smooth out the journey. In this session, three panelists, who bring a wealth of experience in comparative education as teachers, advisors, reviewers and journal editors, will provide useful advice for improving the ‘publishability’ of scholarly papers, and help participants to better understand the peer review process. They will also share their ideas of what constitutes excellent research and a good journal publication. Their presentations will be followed by an open question and answer session.
